Where do my files go?
Every tool on this page runs inside your web browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to a server, so documents stay with you from start to finish.
Will PDF to Word keep my layout?
It rebuilds your PDF as an editable Word document, page by page — keeping text alignment (centered titles, right-aligned dates), font sizes, bold/italic, tables and embedded images like logos where the PDF provides them. It works best with text-based PDFs (reports, articles, e-books). Scanned PDFs that are just pictures of pages contain no readable text, so they need OCR software first.
How does PDF compression work here?
The compressor rebuilds each page at a lower resolution, which can shrink image-heavy and scanned PDFs dramatically. The trade-off: text becomes part of the page image, so it is no longer selectable. For text-only PDFs that are already small, the result may not be much smaller.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no set limit, but very large files (over 50 MB or hundreds of pages) can take a while and use a lot of memory. If a tool struggles, try lowering the quality setting or using a smaller file.
